Wow! Blocking makes a HUGE difference.
First, I should say that I have never blocked before. I have no idea if I’m doing it correctly. The idea to do this came from a ravelry user after I looked through her pictures and read her blog. In her notes, she says she didn’t block, but used a steamer. What a great idea! I don’t have a steamer, but I was able to get a corkboard. So I made my own blocking grid and spritzed the squares with distilled water. It is amazing to me the difference that blocking makes on the squares – I can’t wait to see them when they are done.

- Here is a close up of my blocking board. You can see the sticky ruler coming up off of the metal border.
- A close up of the 2 round blocks. Aren’t they cute?
- Wow! I couldn’t believe the different between the blocked square on the left and the non-blocked "square" on the right. I still can’t believe the difference. And the blocks are so much flatter.
- Here you can see the flatness of the in-the-process-of-being-blocked squares and the un-blocked square

- Blocking materials, ready!
- Go! The next blocking victim is getting showered. I used distilled water because the water at my house has a lot of lime in it, and I don’t want to ruin my blanket.
- I did about 30 squares for the first go round. I can’t wait to see how they come out.
